The mosque of the University Nur-Mubarak
The mosque of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak was built in 2001. It is considered the second largest mosque in the city Almaty. 1,000 people can pray in it at the same time. The area of the premises of the mosque is 1233.9 square meters, where the men’s prayer hall, women’s prayer rooms, classrooms for lectures are situated. The funerals are not allowed, marriages are not registered in the mosque as the lectures, practical classes and workshops are planned for the students of the University Nur-Mubarak. On weekdays, the conditions for free reading, studying and memorizing of the Quran are created for the students. Friday prayers, Ait tarawih prayers are open to the public. On Fridays religious sermons are held in Kazakh and Arabic languages. Scientists of the University, the Egyptian experts give a sermon in the Arabic language, students translate it into Kazakh directly to the general public. Students make their own schedule. The religious sermons are held according to the schedule. Kari of the University and Hafiz in the holy month of Ramadan recite a segment of the Quran. Tarawih prayers are offered by Kari of the University who memorized the entire Quran. Religious holidays: Kurban Eid, Feast of Sacrifice – Kurban Bayram (Eid al-Adha, Night on the 27 th of Ramadan (Laylat al-Qadr), i.e the Night Muslims believe that Muhammad first received Quranic revelations, Eid ul-Fitr Eid al-Fitr – the holiday Fitr Eid al-Fitr, the Feast Mavlud Maulit, established in honor of the birth of Muhammad (the Prophet (peace be upon Allah, and peace) etc. are systematically observed.
University students read the Holy Quran, Tajwid, fiqh, pass beliefs classes free of charge. Special courses are organized for the people who want to master the Arabic language.
